20 minutes late. Spoke for about 10 minutes. His words were muscular but his voice was weak and trembling.
He said: "We will hunt you down and make you pay" but nothing about how to do it. Where to start.
"We inherited a situation". Of course. Not his monkeys, not his circus.
He then called on some reporters:
"The first person I was instructed to call on was Kelly O'Donnell of NBC."
Mark Twain said it perfectly:
Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work.
When we see some effective action, then I will believe his intent.
Also of interest - he speaks for about three or four seconds - a few words - and pauses and then speaks another couple of words. He is not formulating his own thoughts. He is either being prompted via an earpiece or he is reading a screen. The pauses (and their reason) are obvious once you are aware that they are there.
