Heading out for coffee and then back to the hotel to check out. Looking to be on the road around Noon. Google puts the Atlanta airport at a 1:30 drive and planning to stop for a bite along the way. Flight leaves at 6PM so perfect timing. Gives me about 2-3 hours of hang-time in case of unforseen events.
Going to have to get used to wearing masks again - nobody does out here. The position of the government is that you need them if you have the disease. There are also signs on the buildings that remind you that store owners are not liable for your catching it. I have seen a couple places where the staff wear them but nobody asks you to put one on. Except for Asheville, NC - it was mask city there. Very liberal city and county so no surprises.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott refers to Austin, TX as the blueberry in the tomato soup of Texas. Asheville is sort of the same way. Fun city though. It's a two-hour drive from our new house - about the right distance...
Do a quick surf when I come back from coffee in an hour or so.
