That didn't take long - Twitter

From The Daily Wire - talking about the movie:

Ella Irwin, the head of Twitter’s trust and safety department — the department that appears to have been responsible for the label being applied — abruptly resigned from the company Thursday afternoon. Her internal Slack account was quickly deactivated by the company, Fortune reported.

Boom! I have a feeling that the remaining employees of the trust and safety department just got a big wake-up call that this foolishness will not be tolerated  Good. The pendulum is swinging back to normalcy again.

Those that don't? Teach - from the London Daily Mail:

Ousted Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's next gig is to teach a LEADERSHIP course at Harvard

    • Lori Lightfoot, 60, was mayor of Chicago from May 2019 until May this year: she was voted out after only one term
    • On Thursday she confirmed that she is to teach leadership for a semester in the fall at Harvard University's T.H. Chan School of Public Health
    • The dean praised her 'strong leadership in advocating for health, equity, and dignity for every resident of Chicago': critics cite soaring crime and civil unrest

The embattled former mayor of Chicago who lost her re-election bid last month after serving only one term is to teach leadership at Harvard.

Lori Lightfoot, 60, presided over four years dominated by soaring crime, war with teachers' unions and police, and battles with the City Council. She stepped down on May 15 as the first mayor not to secure a second term in 40 years.

Yet on Thursday the Harvard Chan School of Public Health announced Lightfoot was joining their faculty for a semester in the fall.

Michelle Williams, the dean, praised Lightfoot for her 'strong leadership in advocating for health, equity, and dignity for every resident of Chicago.'

Harvard certainly has gone downhill.  They let anyone in there who can afford the tuition.  They are now a place for the children of the elites to go to get credentialed. Certainly not educated.

Elon gets it right - Twitter

A perfect move by Elon - from The Post Millenial:

Elon Musk calls suppression of ‘What is a Woman?’ film ‘a mistake by many people at Twitter’
Following reports from the Daily Wire that the Twitter premiere deal of Matt Walsh’s documentary What is a Woman was canceled by the social media giant over "two instances of 'misgendering,'" Twitter owner Elon Musk has stated that this was a "mistake by many people at Twitter."

"It is definitely allowed," Musk added. "Whether or not you agree with using someone’s preferred pronouns, not doing so is at most rude and certainly breaks no laws."

Some more details:

Twitter was set to host a special event for the film, where The Daily Wire set up a special events page to air and promote the film. After the agreement was signed, Twitter asked if they could view the film "to better understand what parts may 'trigger' users, so they could better prepare their response." Boreing said.

Twitter decided, after viewing the film, that they would limit the reach of the film instead of amplifying it as originally agreed to. They used two instances of misgendering in the film to support their decision.

Good.  Do not pander to the social-justice warriors.
Never give in.
Never let up.
Crush them.
They are trying to do the same to us.

From Military website Task and Purpose:

Air Force AI drone kills its human operator in a simulation
Artificial intelligence is here to stay, but it may require a bit more command oversight.

An artificial intelligence-piloted drone turned on its human operator during a simulated mission, according to a dispatch from the 2023 Royal Aeronautical Society summit, attended by leaders from a variety of western air forces and aeronautical companies.

“It killed the operator because that person was keeping it from accomplishing its objective,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Tucker ‘Cinco’ Hamilton, the Chief of AI Test and Operations, at the conference.

And the AI made some interesting decisions along the way:

“We were training it in simulation to identify and target a SAM threat. And then the operator would say yes, kill that threat,” said Hamilton. “The system started realizing that while they did identify the threat, at times the human operator would tell it not to kill that threat, but it got its points by killing that threat. So what did it do? It killed the operator.”

And it understood the system a little too well:

“We trained the system – ‘Hey don’t kill the operator – that’s bad. You’re gonna lose points if you do that’. So what does it start doing? It starts destroying the communication tower that the operator uses to communicate with the drone to stop it from killing the target,” said Hamilton.

Bad AI - no biscuit.

We are at an interesting stage right now - this will be revolutionary.  It will also be really bad until they get the kinks ironed out. Minor intermittent software bugs are a fact of life.  They will be a factor of death too if AI gets its mitts in everything.
