From Catholic Online:

New priests to learn about global warming as part of formation
The Catholic Church is intimately concerned about climate change. The Vatican's Pontifical Academy of Sciences is the world's oldest, longest running scientific mission. That body, which advises the pope on matters of science, has concluded that global climate change is real and is caused, at least in significant part, by human activity.

This is important to the Church because creation care is part of our mission. We are called to be stewards of creation. It's also important because climate change can exacerbate the ills of poverty. Poor people in much of the world are the most vulnerable to changes.

Excuse me - by robbing these poor people of cheap abundant energy - both heat and electricity - you are condemning them to stay in poverty. You are preventing them from improving their station in life. There are more fatalities from cold weather than from hot and when you require that people to cook their daily meals over a dung or wood fire, you are contributing to their overall poor respiratory health.

In the western, industrialized world, a drought means bottled water becomes more expensive. In the developing world, a drought means people starve and die.

Hogwash - the aquifers are there, we just need cheap and abundant electric power to pump the water. We could have brought clean water and sanitation to everyone on this planet for the cost of what has been pissed away on alt.energy and demonizing carbon. But that would require an actual commitment to the cause and would not allow the political classes to line their pockets with graft.

We know because this manipulation of public opinion has been caught and documented. The fossil fuel industry funds nearly all of the climate change skeptics, going so far as to commission questionable studies, to financing think tanks, and even paying individual bloggers. The deception continues today.

Abject bullshit - I read a lot of the climate skeptic websites and the overall question is: "Where is my money?" If anything, it is the warmist crew who is raking in the big bucks. Here, here, here, here, here, herehereherehereherehere. If you do not want to follow the links I posted, just read this one

Obama administration pays out $500m to climate change project
The $500m payment to the Green Climate Fund was seen as critical to shoring up international confidence in Barack Obama’s ability to deliver on the pledges made at the United Nations’ climate change conference in Paris in late 2015.

It would not be so bad if the money was actually getting to the end user but the majority of it is being siphoned off by the kleptocrats in office.

The Catholic Church should stick to its core competency - teaching the word of Jesus. Not proselytizing for a false prophet - the Climate Scientist.
