So glad I no longer live there - used to be a great city

Seattle was a wonderful place to live. Not any more. One more example from Seattle station QFOX-13:

Seattle closes more streets to ease social distancing
Seattle will close six more miles of residential streets to vehicle traffic to create space for pedestrians and bicyclists during the coronavirus outbreak.

The closures began Friday in the Greenwood, Othello, Rainier Beach, Beacon Hill and Central District neighborhoods. That’s in addition to about 2.5 miles of street that were closed last week in the Central District and West Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports that ultimately, the city wants to close about 15 miles of streets across Seattle in the coming weeks to nonessential vehicle traffic to give more space for people to practice social distancing.

Sure, residents can drive to and from their homes but this is another step towards the socialists wet-dream of having everyone rely on public transportation, live in dense cities and have their lives controlled by the cultural elite. Fuck that. Glad I moved out when I did. The farm was a lot of fun and Camano is a really nice balance.

If I wanted to live in a worker's utopia, I would just screw the baby steps and move to Venezuela. That is where these people are heading with their dain-bread "visions for the future".
