The left eats its own. We see this time again. They try to appease some splinter faction and discover to their dismay, that nothing is ever enough to a dedicated Social Justice Warrior. No matter what they do, they will be publicly called out for not doing enough. Don Surber has a good writeup on this phenomenon today:

I blog from my living room. Atop the TV is a garden statue of Godzilla eating gnomes. My wife put it there and I ignored it until today when I realized it is a perfect metaphor to what the Black Lives Matter monster is doing to the Democrat gnomes who serve as the mayors of Minneapolis, New York City, and Seattle.
The anti-police lawlessness that these mayors have encouraged is turning on them.

The Seattle Times reported, "Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant issued a statement Saturday calling on Mayor Jenny Durkan to resign, describing her as responsible for violence and brutality in the city’s response to overwhelmingly peaceful protests against institutional racism and police killings of Black people.
And:
The New York Times reported, "For Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis, a Walk of Shame," a headline so devastating (meaning true) that the Times changed it to "For Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis, a Stinging Rebuke."
The white liberal foolishly attended a BLM rally, was called out for not supporting the disbanding of the Minneapolis police force. They ordered him to leave.. He did. They jeered him as he walked (slinked) away.

The New York Post reported, "Mayor Bill de Blasio was shouted down with boos and shouts of 'F— you, de Blasio' when he tried to take the podium at a George Floyd protest in Brooklyn on Thursday.
More at the site. The left is grossly overestimating their importance and this movement will crash and burn but there is going to be a lot of destruction and heartbreak between now and then. I was talking with someone today and we were joking about how the island has just one bridge connecting it to the mainland and how easily defensible it is - lots of woods and the island end of the bridge is on a high bluff where the mainland side is all level floodplain.
