Bit the bullet and bought a Tramontina stainless steel combi double boiler/steamer. Four pieces - sauce pan, boiler insert, steamer insert and lid. Not having much space in my kitchen, I like having things with more than one function. This does three and Tramontina makes nice stuff - I have some of their other cookware. Made in Brazil too - not China. Keep my money in this hemisphere. Under $50. There were some really nice looking units from Cuisinart & co. but they were in nosebleed territory - $150 on up. Just for reheating soup? Nope.
Heading out to let Bear rumble around for a while and to watch the sunset. The bones were greatly appreciated. Watch some videos and then an early bedtime. Interviewing for a cat tomorrow afternoon - all set up on this end and Bear has lived with cats before so probably no surprises.
