A very good point - are we smarter today

My first vehicle was a CJ-5 Jeep from the late 1950's - a civilian model.  I remember just how much detail was packed in the owner's manual. You could tear the car down to it's individual components and the manual would show you how to put it back together. These days? Even vehicles from 15 years ago are full of fluff and no real content.  Lisa's 'new' van - the manual is 95% fluff and the rest is fluid specs, how to run the stereo and where the fuses are. Nothing beyond that.
