Heading to Bellingham again tomorrow - the HVAC contractor had a cancellation so we decided to bump their appointment up a couple days.
Got a nice fire going - get a good bed of embers going and I'll then start feeding it with coal for the rest of the evening. Lots of BTUs in anthracite and very little smoke. 12,700 BTU per pound. Hardwood is 7,870. Oil is the winner with #2 Fuel Oil getting 138,500 BTU per gallon (under 8 pounds) so about 18,000 BTU per pound (here).
