Loving the Abralon

Geeking out over the new (to me) abrasive. Been using it on the desktop and it is wonderful. Sooo much better than wet/dry emery cloth. It does not load up and the foam backing allows it to glide without digging in and gouging. The foam will stick to the pad of my orbital sander but just hand sanding for now. Rinse out and it is as good as new - no clogging the grit.  Keep using the same pad for much longer. Definitly step up my woodworking game a lot. I do knife handles and wood bases for things I blacksmith so the Abralon pads will be a good thing to keep on hand. (Abralon, Amazon)

Since I needed to keep them wet when sanding, I used a spray bottle with a little drop of laundry detergent - much lower sudsing than with regular hand soap. It lowers the surface tension and allows the water to completely wet the surface. Worked great.

Waiting for a can of paste wax to warm up a bit (it was in the garage). See how the desktop looks when I am finally done with it. Going for a satin finish but deep luster.

Working tomorrow and Saturday but spending a couple more days of leisure next week - getting a lot done here.
