Smoke starting to dissipate too - relief. Low-level air is clean and clear - Whidbey Island is fully visible across the bay and the sun is shining through - albeit a bit salmon colored. Nice and calm air - might finally get to spraying some of the weeds. Horsetail - I use dilute muriatic acid to kill them. Works great.
Working at home today and for the next couple of days. Yard is calling me.
No real news coming out of Haiti. The national Amateur Radio organization sent out an email asking hams to stay off certain frequencies to allow unhindered communications. Many times, ham radio is the only way to get through when cell phone or emergency services radio will not. Cell towers - the whole cell network - is fragile. Good for about three days with no external power and then they go down. Will know more later today - still to early to report.
